Dorothy J. Brophy   

   April 2, 1949 ~ April 6, 2026   

Dorothy J. (Pisani) Brophy, lovingly known as “Dot” to those who knew her best, passed away on Monday, April 6, at the age of 77. A lifelong resident of the area, she was from New Windsor, New York.

Dot was born in Newburgh, New York, to Francis and Nancy Pisani. She graduated from Mount Saint Mary Academy and went on to build a long and dedicated career at West Point Credit Union, where she served as a branch manager for many years.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially trips to Atlantic City where she enjoyed playing the slot machines, as well as taking long rides and spending time with those she loved.

Dot is survived by her devoted husband of over 51 years, Robert Brophy; her daughters, Andrea Babcock (Jim) and Tara Brophy-Doehla (Andy); and her cherished grandchildren, Amalia and Matthew Babcock. She is also survived by her nephews, cousins, and many lifelong friends who will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 13, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, New York.

Dot will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and the love she shared with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
